About Juliana

welcome, friend
My name is Juliana. I am a creative seeker forever in search of the threads that bind with a penchant for beauty in its older, stranger forms.
This space is my digital journal where thoughts on the artistic and the philosophical find their home in the form of quiet, long-form essays, often inspired by the visuals I piece together.
My work lives where the romantic meets the existential: a glass menagerie of innocence and experience in all their opalescent hues.
“Soon I’ll find the right words, they’ll be very simple.”
Preoccupations
What I’m drawn to
Ballet
Classical movement, line, and the body’s wordless language.
Surrealism
Surrealist art and fashion. Think Lee Miller, Man Ray, and Schiaparelli.
Cinema
Classic film (old and new), Miyazaki, and Technicolor to name a few.
Theatre
Dramas and comedies a la Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, and Oscar Wilde.
Collage
Mixed media, creative play, and artistic experimentation.
“Collage is perhaps one of the simplest and best representations of the creative process.”
